Jazz guitar

Jazz guitar is referred to as the usage of guitar in the field of jazz music. Before the use of the jazz guitar other types of them were used like the acoustic guitars. After 1940's electric guitars became to be used largely due to their quality. These guitars were preferred by all because it is advantageous over acoustic guitars and moreover it is an amplified instrument. Jazz guitar is also referred to as a style in playing the guitar.

The year 1920 is known as the jazz era as it was in this period of time the evolution of jazz music took place and got into hearts of the common people. It was during this time people started to enjoy music and thus the jazz guitar became popular. Jazz was the music loved by all and it became a passion for the entire population.

There are a lot of personalities who are famous in the filed of jazz guitar. Some of the significant jazz guitarists are Duck Baker who was a well renowned acoustic jazz guitarist, George Benson who is known as one of the first jazz guitarist, Charlie Byrd who was the person who played jazz on a nylon string guitar, Ted Greene who is a solo jazz guitarist without any band backing him, Lage Lund who is the winner of 2006 Thelonious Monk competitions, Roman Miroshnichenko who is a Russian jazz guitarist, John McLaughlin who is was a famous Jazz-rock fusion pioneer in the 1970s, Pat Metheny who is a Missouri based guitarist and who leads his own band, Les Paul who is a Grammy winner as jazz guitarist, Howard Roberts who is guitarist who plays it in a funky style, Benjamin Rodefer who is the youngest guitarist known today, Kurt Rosenwinkel known to be the best new voice in jazz guitar play etc. Other players include Stanley Jordan, Barney Kessel, Allan Holdsworth, Jim Hall and many more.

Jazz guitar has its own unique style of playing it. It differs from other guitar plays. Newer notes of jazz can be created by every individual upon practice and also by including some creativity in their own way. Learning jazz guitar is not such a tough task nowadays as this can be done sitting at home through online lessons on playing jazz guitar. The only need for such a study is a guitar of your own and the curiosity and passion to learn it.
