Canadian music charts are amazing but many of us do not seem to be aware of this fact. This ignorance is because of the cultural similarities between Canada and its neighboring countries. Some of the favorite Canadian bands are Winnipeg, Weakerthans and Manitoba. Weakerthans won the 2001 Canadian Grammy (Juno) for their album 'Left and Leaving'

Ask someone on the street to name some Canadian musicians and you will hear names like Shania Twain, Neil Young, Celine Dion and Neil Young. Though they are talented in their own way, they do not symbolize the depth and breadth of Canadian music.
